The Draftsman is perfectly situated on West Main Street and just steps away from the University of Virginia and the UVA Medical Center. This pet-friendly, upscale boutique hotel features 150 well-appointed guestrooms, over 2,300 sq. ft of meeting space and a rooftop fitness center. The evocative spirit of Virginia’s original voices and visions of 3 Presidents—Madison, Monroe and most notably, the profound ingenuity of Thomas Jefferson—are presented in engaging ways in The Draftsman with references to the past, present and future of this storied, historic region.
Bulleit, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, reflects Charlottesville— friendly, outdoorsy, and committed to making life better for everyone in the community. He is one of the most lovable ways that The Draftsman provides an experience that is “exactly like nothing else.”
For Renewal, simplicity and “farm-to-table” are not buzzwords – they are gospel. The breakfast, lunch & dinner menus will change regularly, ensuring that the dishes star the freshest ingredients from surrounding farms. Executive Chef Joe Wolfson is no stranger to this hand-in-hand relationship with local farmers. While working at Ham and High in Montgomery, Alabama, Wolfson sourced every ingredient except flour and oil from the surrounding farms. “I rode a 4-wheeler to the farms to see what was looking best that day and I’d build our menu around it. I am excited to help strengthen the whole Charlottesville community through our relationships with the farmers.”
